Runners can pay an extra $25 fee to leave their car at the finish line and be shuttled to the Starting Point at the Los Gatos Rowing Club.

About the Race

The Mt. Umunhum to Quicksilver trail racing event is a point-to-point extravaganza. Embark on a breathtaking journey through the untamed beauty of the famous South Bay Area hills, where the rugged trails of Mt. Umunhum meet the scenic wonders of Quicksilver State Park.

A $25 Bussing fee will be added to registration for runners who would like to register and leave their cars at the finishing line and use the morning shuttle to arrive at the Start Line.

  • Active military & first responders receive a 15% discount. Please email team@tctruns.com to process your registration discount.
  • Entry fees are non-refundable, but the full registration amount (minus processing fees) may be transferred to another future TCTRuns by contacting team@tctruns.com at least 24 hours before the scheduled event.
  • Runners may purchase a Troy’s California Trail Runs sport-tek technical fabric shirt for $15 during the registration process, or at the event supply permitting.  All shirts are gender-specific and come in sizes ranging from ladies XS all the way to mens XXL and youth S to XL.

  • 6:10 AM – Registration and Shuttle Pick-up @ 21785 Almaden Rd, San Jose, CA 95120
  • 6:30 AM / 6:45 AM – Shuttle departs for Los Gatos Rowing Club
  • 7:00 AM — Registration/Sign-In/Bib-Pick Up Opens @ Los Gatos Rowing Club (Race Start), runners can arrange for individual travel arrangements and register at the Start line without use of shuttle.
  • 7:45 AM — Trail Briefing
  • 8:00 AM — Race Start (ALL DISTANCES)

Please arrive early as we expect a full event.

Course Information & Maps

Toilets are available at the start/finish line. They are first-come first-served, so please be respectful of other runners waiting for and needing to use the toilets. Toilets also available at Mt. Umunhum Aid Station, Woods Aid Station, and Finish Line.

The course is Point to Point.

Courses will be marked with single solid PINK and solid YELLOW color ribbons tied to clothespins, ORANGE cones, signs & gypsum.

There are a total of three aid stations and two water stops available for this course, please refer to course maps for additional details.

  • 10:00 AM – Mile 5.6 @ Kennedy Limekiln & Woods Aid Station (ALL DISTANCES)
  • 12:30 PM – Mile 12 @ Woods Aid Station (25KM)
  • 12:30 PM – Mile 14 @ Mt. Umunhum Aid Station (50KM and Trail Marathon)
  • 2:00 PM – Mile 15.6 @ Finish Line (25KM, 6-hour time limit)
  • 3:30 PM – Mile 21.7 @ Woods Aid Station (50KM and Trail Marathon)
  • 4:30 PM – Mile 25.3 @ Water Stop / Prospect + Randol (50KM)
  • 5:15 PM – Mile 28.3 @ Randol Capehorn + Minehill Water Stop (50KM)
  • 6:00 PM – Mile 31 (RACE OVER)

Crew

You may have family and/or crew meet you at the Mt. Umunhum and Woods Parking Aid Stations. Please refer to trail maps for directions.

Drop Bags / Clothing Drop Offs

Runners can have drop bags delivered to the following aid stations:

  • Mile 5.6 @ Kennedy Limekiln & Woods Aid Station (ALL DISTANCES)
  • Mile 14 @ Mt. Umunhum Aid Station (50K and Trail Marathon Only)
  • Mile 12 or 21.6 @ Woods Aid Station (12M stop for 25K)

Any runners that would like to drop bags off at to be taken to any of the Aid Stations and/or the Finish area please give to staff at Runner Check in.

WE HIGHLY RECCOMEND THAT YOU USE DISPOSABLE DROP BAGS, OTHERWISE YOU WILL NEED TO WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE RACE TO HAVE YOUR DROP BAG DELIVERED TO THE FINISH LINE.

Parking and Carpooling

  • 21785 Almaden Rd, San Jose, CA 95120 – Parking is available at the Hacienda main entrance parking lot, this is the Finish Line. Runners can arrive at 6:10AM to register and take the shuttle to the Start Line for a $25 fee paid at registration or race-day morning.
  • Los Gatos Rowing Club, 10000 Alma Bridge Rd, Los Gatos, CA 95030 – Parking is available at the Start Line, runners will need to arrange their own transportation back to the start line when the race is over if they opt to park here and forego the morning shuttle.
  • We encourage carpooling.
