The Pacific Grove Lighthouse 5K course is a fast and scenic out-and-back route next to the beautiful Monterey Bay and is open to 2,000 entrants age ten and older. Awards go to the overall male and female finishers and the overall masters (age 40+) male and female finishers and then three deep in five-year age divisions.

The PG Lighthouse 5K starts and finishes at Lover’s Point Park in Pacific Grove.

THE OCEAN VIEW CHALLENGE

The Ocean View Challenge (OVC) is a half marathon and 5K combo package for those who want to run the 5K on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday. It includes a discounted entry fee and a commemorative finisher medallion.

 

ENTRY LIMIT AND REGISTRATION

The 5K is open to 2,000 entrants. You must be five years of age or older and in good health. Both runners and walkers are welcome.

No dogs or children in strollers may participate.

PACKET PICK-UP

Bibs and event shirts can be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo at the Monterey Conference Center on Friday, November 10th between 12 PM and 6 PM. A photo ID is required for pick-up.

PARKING

On race day, there will be parking in the Pacific Grove public parking lots and on neighborhood streets. Be sure to note any parking enforcement signs and hours.

COURSE

AID STATIONS

There are two aid stations serving water, one at approximate mile 1.3 and a second one at mile 2.2.

FINISH

The 5K ends at Lovers Point Park in Pacific Grove

TIMING and AWARDS

Timing is provided by South Valley Endurance.

Awards go three deep in five-year age divisions after 5-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-19 and will include gender nonconforming awards.   There will also be an award for the overall male, female, and gender nonconforming runners. Double-dipping is permitted (overall winners are eligible for divisional awards).

IPODS AND AUDIO DEVICES

We strongly discourage the use of iPods, headphones, ear buds or other MP3 or headphone devices in any of our events for safety reasons. Due to the nature of this course, you need to be able to hear verbal instructions or commands from race officials including course marshals on bicycles and to hear other vehicles or emergency vehicles on the course alongside you. We ask that you leave your headsets/earbuds at home to best enjoy the experience with your fellow runners.
