About the Race

Run in the shadow of the infamous Mt. Umunhum. Set in the Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve, this is a one of a kind running experience that provides unique access to gorgeous trails and scenery not viewed by many. This is one of the toughest trail races that we host. Come prepared for a fantastic adventure!

  • Entry fees are non-refundable, but the full registration amount (minus processing fees) may be transferred to another future TCT Run by contacting team@tctruns.com at least 24 hours before the scheduled event.
  • Runners may purchase a Troy’s California Trail Runs sport-tek technical fabric shirt during the registration process, or at the event supply permitting.  All shirts are gender-specific and come in sizes ranging from ladies XS all the way to mens XXL.

Course Information & Maps

Toilets are available at the start/finish line. They are first-come first-served, so please be respectful of other runners waiting for and needing to use the toilets. Toilets also available at Woods Aid Station.

All courses are an out and back.

Courses will be marked with solid color Pink ribbons tied to clothespins, signs & gypsum.

5K

  • Course Ascent: 974 ft.
  • Race Bibs: Runners will have black-numbered bibs on a white background.
  • Ribbons/Aid Stations:
    • Follow pink ribbons up to English Camp. Turn Around at 5k turn around signs accompanied by green ribbons to return to FINISH 5K.
  • Aid/water available at start and again at finish line (Toilets also available!).

7 Mile

  • Course Ascent: 1,663 ft.
  • Race Bibs: Runners will have black-numbered bibs on a white background.
  • Course Ribbons:
    • Follow pink ribbons up to Woods Aid Station (Mile 3.5, Toilet Available). Turn Around at 7 mile turn around signs at Woods Aid to retrace your steps back to FINISH 7 MILE.
  • Aid/Water Available:
    • Hacienda Start (Mile 0.0, 8:00am, Toilet Available)
    • Woods Aid Station (Mile 3.5, Toilet Available),
    • Hacienda Finish (Mile 7.0, Toilet Available)

Half Marathon (12:30pm overall cutoff, 4.5 Hour Time Limit)

  • Course Ascent: 3,582 ft.
  • Race Bibs: Runners will have red-numbered bibs on a white background.
  • Course Ribbons:
    • Follow pink ribbons out to the Woods Aid Station, then continue onto Woods Trail following pink ribbons. Turn around will be at the water stop on Woods Trail just after the junction with Barlow Road. There will be Half Marathon Turn Around signs accompanied by blue ribbons at the turn around point at the water stop. Retrace your outbound path back to HALF MARATHON FINISH.

  • Course Ribbons:
    • Follow pink ribbons out to the Woods Aid then continue onto Woods Trail following pink ribbons. Turn around will be shortly after Mt. El Sombroso, on Woods Trail at intersection with Kennedy and Limekiln Trails. There will be an Aid Station with staff directing at the 20 Mile turn around point. Retrace your outbound path back to 20 MILE FINISH.

There will be an aid station at the intersection of Limekiln/Priest Rock Trails and this will be the Trail Marathon turn around point. Retrace your outbound path back to TRAIL MARATHON FINISH.

There will be an aid station at the intersection of Limekiln/Priest Rock Trails, where you will turn left, continuing to follow pink ribbons on Priest Rock Trail to Alma Bridge Rd. 50K turn around will be on Priest Rock Trail at Alma Bridge Rd. Retrace your outbound path back to TRAIL 50K FINISH.

  • Drop Bags will have a designated area for runners to access at:
    • Hacienda Start/Finish Line,
    • Kennedy Aid Station at Kennedy/Woods/Limekiln trails intersection
    • Priest Rock Aid Station at Priest Rock/Limekiln trails intersection
  • Staff will collect runner drop bags before the race start at the Hacienda Start/Finish and transport to designated aid stations. These will be available for runners during their race, and staff will return them to the Hacienda Finish Line after the race.

Parking and Carpooling
